Newsprint dispenser
Valorem is an experienced design studio with a primary focus on product development and industrial design. However, the studio boasts a diverse portfolio encompassing various design projects, including identity design, interior design and exhibition stands design.
I was tasked with designing a unique newsprint dispenser for Lokál, a free daily newspaper. Given full creative autonomy, I crafted three distinct design concepts.
After presenting initial draft sketches, I consulted with the client to select three promising directions to proceed with creating 3D concept models.
Version A was designed to stand out prominently from a distance, whereas versions B and C adopted a more minimalist approach. Additionally, both B and C possess a shared feature allowing for seamless alignment when placed side by side. Importantly, all designs were engineered to withstand the rigors of street use.
After careful consideration, one design was selected and further refined to ensure both mechanical functionality and structural integrity.
